Connecting Community Through Fresh, Local Food

When summer arrives in Modoc County, so does the vibrant energy of our Certified Farmers Markets. Operated by Modoc Harvest, these markets aren’t just about buying produce– they’re about building relationships, celebrating the growing season, and strengthening our local food system from the ground up.

Whether you’re shopping for juicy tomatoes, fresh eggs, handmade soaps, or just a good conversation with your neighbor, the Farmers Market is the place to be! Everything sold at our markets is grown or made by local farmers, ranchers, and artisans, keeping food dollars circulating in our own community and supporting the people who live and work here.

Why It Matters

In a rural region like ours, access to fresh food can be limited– but the Farmers Markets create reliable, seasonal spaces where everyone is welcome. By shopping at the market, you’re helping small farms stay viable, reducing the distance food travels, and keeping traditional knowledge and practices alive. Markets also serve as gathering places that connect neighbors and create opportunities for education, collaboration, and joy.

Get Involved!

There are so many ways to get involved! You can:

  • Simply SHOP AT THE MARKET! Every dollar you spend at the market goes directly to a local grower, maker, or small business.
  • Become a vendor to sell what you grow or make
  • Apply to perform live music or host an activity
  • Join us as a volunteer to help set up, staff the info booth, or clean up
  • Spread the word and bring a friend– your presence makes a difference!
  • Make a donation to support our work
